Secondly whether an array, eg RAID 5 can be spread over the two controllers? The floppies do contain the files needed; I checked them on a second computer. Max number of drives on the Intel Matrix controller will be 4 drives, so you can have raid 0,1, 5, Let us know how you get on 0 Votes. The thing I do not understand is why the floppy light stays on after hitting F6 to load third party drivers.

The documentation talks about installing 3 or 4 drives in the Intsl connectors!! The BIOS, it comes with two floppys and both are good. There a lot of questions, but some help with some answers will be appreciated.
That is about all I can suggest other than taking OH Smegs advice on doing the slipstream. If your motherboard chipset does not provide RAID function but your motherboard has an extra chip that does, you will need to install your hard disk drives to the ports attached to this chip instead of using the hard disk drive ports attached inteo the south bridge chip.
It will go out after I hit cancel or exit. Check that the Hard Drives are Partitioned.
I will just add a bit to it. Board would not operate at first, needed to get real expertise help to sort it out, first time ever to have problems with an Intel board, as they normally run up initially with no d975xbz2. Usually this extra chip has an embedded RAID controller.
This content has been x975xbx2 as final. You need to know how many raid array you want to have. The next screen will display the Partition information. I have not been able to find the information required in the documentation that comes with the board nor from Intel’s web site, which most likely means my questions can not be done!

I have made a few computers in my time but this MB is a e975xbx2 pain in the rump! Select it’s first partition or the partition that you want to install windows on. The d975xbx22 I do not understand is why the floppy light stays on after hitting F6 to load third party drivers. Thanks Aryan, That solved my problem and by going to the link you provided i was able to learn more about RAID configuration. So NO, you will not be able to have more than four drives in one array.

I checked the floppy disk on another computer and worked d975xnx2, I used a known good floppy drive with the same results, I used another known good floppy drive cable. You will now get another screen that will allow you to Create or adjust the size of the Partition. This may help you a bit to understand them better.
I have a PC that I build a year ago. Thanks for your comments bigbear. Tried doing, I riad most of what you replied with.
